My Baby Boy's Shower
One Month! My due date is in one month away from today exactly. Cue the explosives. Mind blown.
I think back to the day that I found out that I was pregnant and it feels like a long time ago. But then again it doesn't. This pregnancy has flown by so quickly for me. I feel like I have so much to get done before he arrives and not enough time to do it. I swear most first time moms have their nurseries decorated, hospital bags packed, and have accomplished all their baby book reading months before their due date. I on the other hand just barely started working on the nursery decor, haven't even thought about a hospital bag, and am on the second chapter of one of the baby books I want to read (I should probably just realize now that I am only going to read one or maybe even just half of one of the many suggested to me).
In other words, I was feeling soooo unprepared until my baby showers! Two weeks ago my mom's friends from the ward I grew up in threw me the nicest luncheon shower! I was gifted the cutest things! And last week I was showered with love by our friends and family at a baby shower thrown by my sisters. It was literally the cutest little boy shower I have ever been to! I left the shower feeling so loved. I already have this Mother Hen feeling where I just want everyone to love our little baby boy and at the end of the night I really did feel so loved and that everyone is just as excited for him to come as I am.
The shower was adorable! I am so grateful, happy, and now just anxious to get organizing/nesting!

The invites made by my talented and very artsy sis-in-law! She also did the calligraphy on the envelopes. |
The cute napkin/plastic ware bowties! |
They had baby pictures of Matson & I all over! |
I wish I had a picture of the clothes line hanging from the mantel behind us! It was so cute - they hung the most adorable little clothes, bib, and shoes from it! |
Thank you so much. I meant the world to me to everyone that came and especially to my sisters and mama for all that they did!

Halloween 2014
Halloween was fun this year! We didn't really have any parties or plans, so we just did whatever we wanted! A couple nights before Halloween we carved our pumpkins. Instead of doing two separate ones, we joined forces and made this little skeleton man! He turned out pretty good! And good thing we carved him only a couple days before Halloween because he literally fell apart the morning after Halloween. He was nice and soft...
So after my sister gave me a good prego costume idea, I gave up. It was so hard and I literally need like a whole year to prep for Matson's epic costume idea (look to next year's Halloween blog post to see what we end up being...I might give again but I think Matson would kill me so we will probably end up being what he wants). Anyway, we were Chuck Noland and Wilson the Volleyball from the movie Cast Away.
It was fun to make the costumes and then on Halloween we spent time with our little nephew trick or treating and then also eating my mama's homemade chili and watching Forensic Files with my sister, her husband, and my parents. My cute little niece was the most adorable scuba diver. It was the perfect costume for her because she loooooves her pacifier and so her pacifier was part of her costume as the thing scuba people breathe through (I have no idea what they are called...probably something as simple as a "mouth piece"). Our nephew was Thor and was the cutest little trick or treater. He would just drop his bucket on the porch, step back, and say thank you as he walked away.
Baby A* wouldn't look at the camera, so Matson mimicked her in this pick. All dress up in her cute scuba costume! |

My Pathway to Becoming a Golfer
Since Matson works for a golf company (ForeUp) we figured that he should strengthen his golf skills. He has golfed since being in my family but he wouldn't consider himself a good golfer. In addition to him strengthening his golf skills, he thought I should strengthen mine. I have golfed maybe once in my life. And since he works for a golf company...I wouldn't wanna embarrass him or nothin' so I agreed to go golfing. Therefore we went golfing with some friends of ours! Good thing is that E* and K* are pro golfers and literally helped me get so much better (not like I was even good to begin with). It was a lot of fun and I think there will be more golfing for us in the future! Especially with our little boy.
Don't I look like such a happy golfer? Psshhhh... |

A Baby Shower for the Best Girl
My sis in law, N*, is having her baby soon! Therefore, we had to shower her and my first future niece with love. We planned for the shower to be outside but due to Utah's sketchy weather we moved things more inside. I loved everything about this shower. The food, the guests, the colors, the flowers, and everything about it. I am so happy for my sis in law and honestly can't wait to meet my little niece soon (and when I say soon I seriously mean soon).
